Position Summary: The Dining Server/Wait Staff serves food and beverages to residents at Ruth's House, our Assisted Living program, in accordance with established JGS Lifecare policies and procedures. They perform duties under the direction of the dining services director to assure that quality food service is provided to meet the needs of the residents in a kind, caring and compassionate manner.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Takes food and beverage orders from residents and serves meals on a timely basis that are both presentable and appetizing in appearance.
2. Sets up and delivers meals to residents' apartments receiving room service.
3. Handles requests from residents requiring assistance with meal selection or having specific needs.
4. Sets up the dining room for the next scheduled meal.
5. Assists in inventorying supplies.
6. Attends in-service program seminars and workshops as directed.
7. Advises supervisor when supplies diminish for re-order.
8. Exhibits strong customer service skills with residents, visitors, and their families.
9. Follows all safety regulations and infection control procedures when performing daily tasks.

Qualifications:

1. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions in English.
2. Must have knowledge of dietary procedures as well as related health department regulations and guidelines pertaining to food service operations.
3. Must be able to serve food and beverages for residents in a prompt and efficient manner.
4. High school diploma or equivalent.
5. Previous dining room and server experience.
6. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
7. This is primarily a standing position where an employee may be required to stand in one place for extended periods; they will also be exposed to extreme heat and cold temperatures.

Hours: Part-time, Every other Weekend
