Job summary

Spring River Rehabilitation & Care Center in Roswell, NM, seeks a Weekend Activities Assistant to energize and engage residents on weekend shifts. The role involves planning, organizing, and leading recreational activities that promote social interaction, independence, and quality of life for seniors.

The ideal candidate is friendly, creative, and dependable, with a passion for working with seniors. Previous healthcare or recreation experience is preferred but not required; weekend availability

Qualifications

• Experience in activities, recreation, senior living, healthcare, hospitality, education, childcare, customer service, or community programs is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work weekends consistently.
• Ability to engage with residents and lead activities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to develop new engagement ideas for residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and leading weekend resident activities.
• Encourage participation based on interests and abilities.
• Lead group activities such as games, crafts, music, and social events.
• Provide one-on-one activities for residents who prefer smaller engagements.
• Maintain a positive, energetic, and welcoming atmosphere across weekends.
• Coordinate with Activities leadership and other staff as needed.
