Job summary

Comstock Holding Companies, Inc. seeks a Full Time Security Officer for Thursdays–Saturdays, 10am–3pm in Shirlington, VA. The role safeguards residents, tenants, and guests, performing hourly patrols, access control, and incident reporting to management.

You’ll enforce plaza policies, assist at events, and maintain safety and security across Reston and nearby complexes. Qualified candidates have a High School Diploma, DCJS certification or ability to obtain it within 90 days, and at least 1 year

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• DCJS Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Minimum 1 year customer-service experience.
• Valid driver's license with no major violations.
• Flexibility to work after hours and weekends.
• Strong communication, time management and problem-solving skills.
• Credible, trustworthy and high integrity.
• Positive, can-do attitude and growth mindset.
• Customer-focused and results-oriented.
• Self-directed with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Complete hourly patrols of the property using the security system.
• Access control for guests, tenants and vendors.
• Maintain plaza appearance and enforce the no dogs policy.
• Assist Reston and Loudoun Station events as needed.
• Manage valet at Reston Station and monitor plaza traffic.
• Close loading dock doors and report safety concerns.
• Issue banning notices to rule violators.
• Keep Kiss N Ride information and rules updated.
• Inform guests about fire access areas and safety policies.
