Job summary

Comstock Companies, partner for ParkX Management in Ashburn, VA, seeks a Security Officer to help ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, tenants, and guests. You will patrol, control access, and monitor for safety while upholding property rules.

The role requires DC security certification, 1 year of customer-service experience, a valid driver’s license, and flexibility for after-hours work. Collaboration with management and event support are part of the duties.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma
• Must be certified security officer by the District of Columbia
• Minimum 1 year experience in a customer-service related field
• Valid driver’s license with no major violations
• Flexibility to work after hours and weekends
• Able to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people
• Demonstrates urgency, integrity and reliability
• Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Complete hourly patrol route of the property using the security system
• Access control for guests, tenants and vendors
• Ensure no property is being damaged
• Conduct routine foot patrols in and around buildings
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Observation and reporting of safety
• Issue banning notices to rule violators
• Maintain files for Ban Notices and notify management as needed
• Maintain appearance of plaza kiosks
• Enforce the no dogs on plaza policy
• Communicate safety and conduct information to guests
• Report any unknown work to management
• Notify Park X management for illegal parking
• Keep fire access areas unobstructed
• Close loading dock doors as needed
• Report concerns to management
• Assist Marketing during events at Reston and Loudoun Station
• Manage valet at Reston Station and ensure plaza access integrity
• Ensure plaza marketing plans are followed for special events
• Manage traffic entering the plaza and keep it moving
