Job summary

StoneRidge in Mystic, CT is seeking a part-time Security Officer for 16 hours per week. Shifts are weekends with varying hours (12pm-8pm or 4pm-12am) and occasional added shifts, including nights and holidays. Starting pay is $17.75 per hour with night and weekend differentials.

Responsibilities

• Makes scheduled rounds both inside and outside the buildings to maintain a secure environment for residents and their property.
• Responds to all fire alarms and apartment emergency calls.
• Shovels and keeps clear exit door walkways during and after snowstorms.
• Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
• Performs light maintenance as time allows such as changing light bulbs, touch up painting and similar assignments.

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all residents, visitors, staff and protecting community property. The Security Officer is responsibility for verifying the scheduled presence of employees and third-party contractors on the grounds.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Makes scheduled rounds both inside and outside the buildings to maintain a secure environment for residents and their property as well as company property.
• Responds to all fire alarms and apartment emergency calls.
• Shovels and keeps clear exit door walkways during and after snowstorms.
• Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.

Other Duties:

• Performs light maintenance as time allows such as changing light bulbs, touch up painting and similar assignments.
• Maintains all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition.
• Attends in-service training and education session, as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
• One-year experience in security preferred.
