Rochester Regional Health’s Unity Hospital seeks an RN Lactation Consultant to provide expert breastfeeding education, assessment, and support for expectant and new parents in the August Family Birth Place. The role emphasizes compassionate guidance, cooperative care with physicians and nurses, and promotion of optimal maternal and infant health outcomes.

This part-time, 24-hour-per-week position covers weekends (Friday–Saturday) with 8- or 12-hour shifts, day/evening hours, and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience as a lactation consultant.
• Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing; RN license in NY; BLS certification.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Program development: educate on human milk, assist with feeding decisions, guide latching and feeding patterns.
• Individualized care: assist mothers with identified lactation problems.
• Leadership & collaboration: coordinate with care teams and educate staff on lactation management.
