The Registered Nurse in the 8 North General Med/Oncology Unit at St. Vincent Hospital is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients.

Qualifications

• Current State of PA RN licensure or multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Preferred certification in area of specialty.
• Current RN License in Pennsylvania.
• CPR certification required.
• Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 clearances required.

Responsibilities

• Assess human responses and plan nursing care for individuals or families.
• Provide transformational leadership in a professional practice setting.
• Assign or delegate tasks based on patient needs and staff skill levels.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to evaluate clinical care.
• Promote patient safety initiatives and participate in quality initiatives.
• Utilize the nursing process to implement patient care plans.
• Analyze health status and determine patient care needs.
• Document changes in patient condition and notify appropriate personnel.
• Participate in professional development and lifelong learning.
• Advocate for patients and resolve patient/family concerns.
