Job summary

Gadsden Regional Medical Center is seeking a Weekend Registered Charge Nurse for the Ortho unit. The role oversees nursing operations on weekends, supervises staff, coordinates patient care with the health care team, and ensures compliance with hospital policies while fostering a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience required.
• RN licensure in State or Compact plus BLS; ACLS preferred.
• Proficiency with hospital information systems and patient documentation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing and support staff, delegating shifts and tasks.
• Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback.
• Oversee assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient care.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Maintain safety, infection control, and compliance with hospital policies.
• Lead unit huddles and shift handoffs for effective communication.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and audits.
