Job summary
Gadsden Regional Medical Center is seeking a Weekend Registered Charge Nurse in Ortho to lead the unit during weekend shifts, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care and smooth operations.
The RN will supervise nursing staff, coordinate with care teams, enforce safety and infection control, participate in audits, and mentor staff while maintaining compliance with hospital policies. Weekend shifts with enhanced pay and sign-on incentives are available for full- and part-time roles.
Qualifications
- Active RN license required in Alabama orCompact State licensure.
- 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of infection control, safety standards and quality improvement.
Responsibilities
- Supervises and supports nursing and support staff during weekend shifts.
- Evaluates staff performance and provides coaching to maintain care quality.
- Oversees patient care planning and coordination with care teams.
- Ensures effective communication among physicians, patients, families and departments.
- Monitors patient flow and unit resources; participates in audits and safety initiatives.
- Leads infection prevention efforts and ensures training needs are met.
