Job summary

St.-James-Rehabilitation-and-Healthcare-Center is seeking a weekend Respiratory Therapist (RT) for a Skilled Nursing facility in New York. The role requires current licensure (RRT or CRT) in the practicing state and the ability to work independently with geriatric patients.

The position involves assessing, initiating and documenting respiratory therapies, and providing bedside treatments. Prior LTAC/long-term care experience is preferred; daily pay is offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program; Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state of practice; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to rehab patients with various illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments; work with rehab on respiratory interventions.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter; responsible for daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Experience with tracheotomy; relevant long-term care setting experience; follow facility procedures and protocols.
