Job summary

Palmetto Subacute Care Center in Florida seeks a Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. The ideal candidate holds a Florida license and can evaluate and treat residents independently, with a passion for geriatric care.

Responsibilities include bedside treatments, initiating therapies, maintaining records, and providing a range of respiratory care services such as oxygen therapy, chest physiotherapy, suctioning, CP R, and pulmonary function testing in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program and licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments: Oxygen therapy, Aerosol therapy, Incentive Spirometry, Chest physiotherapy, Tracheostomy care, Airway management, CPR, Pulmonary function testing, Walk testing.

Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Looking for a talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain and progress the rehab patients with many different Respiratory illness/diseases and non respiratory illness.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
  • Oxygen therapy
  • Oxygen weaning
  • Aerosol therapy
  • PEP therapy
  • Deep breathing and coughing
  • Respiratory muscle training
  • Incentive Spirometry
  • Chest physiotherapy
  • Oro/Naso-pharyngeal suctioning
  • Tracheo-bronchial suctioning and tracheostomy care
  • Airway management/assessment
  • Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
  • Pulmonary function testing
  • High-flow oxygen
  • 6- and 2-minute walk testing
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
