Job summary

Options for Community Living, Inc. is hiring an Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Residential Counselor for in-person work in Medford, NY. The role focuses on assisting residents with daily living activities and community integration, with a strong emphasis on safety and wellness.

Weekend schedule available at 14 hours/week. Salary ranges from $20.00 to $24.00 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package including PTO, retirement plan, and training opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Must be a high school graduate or the equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, safe driving record, valid auto insurance and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of individual service plans and monitor plan objectives.
  • Assist residents with skills needed to engage in the community and daily activities (transportation, grooming, hygiene, laundry).
  • Document services provided with appropriate notes.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized household.
  • Provide information regarding community resources and orientation to the local area.
  • Intervene in emergencies to ensure residents’ safety.
  • Train residents in laundry and household cleaning skills.
  • Identify and resolve health and safety issues at residential sites.

Salary Range:
  • $20.00/hr. - $24.00/hr.

  • Weekend Differential Pay may be applicable.
Schedule:

Saturday & Sunday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (14 hours/week)

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the development of individual service plans and monitor plan objectives.
  • Assist residents with skills needed to engage in the community, daily, such as arranging and being prepared for transportation, delivering services directed at grooming and hygiene, providing one on one direction with laundry when needed, etc.
  • Document services provided with appropriate notes.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized household.
  • Provide information regarding community resources and orient residents to the local area.
  • Intervene in situations regarding immediate attention to ensure the safety of the residents.
  • Conduct regular group meetings covering various topics that pertain to life skills.
  • Train and assist residents with development of laundry and household cleaning skills.
  • Train and assist residents with personal hygiene and site maintenance objectives.
  • Identify and work to appropriately resolve any health and safety issues at residential sites.
  • Assist residents with budgetary and money management skills.
  • Provide counseling, behavioral intervention and crisis management service while following emergency procedures.
  • Notify the Program Supervisor/Program Manager of any medical or psychiatric emergency.
  • Complete and maintain all training requirements in a timely manner.
  • Any other relevant task as assigned by management.
Salary Range:

$20 USD - $24 USD
