Job summary

Majestic Care is seeking a Weekend Registered Nurse (RN) to join our New Haven team. You will render skilled nursing services within an assigned unit and supervise CNAs to ensure high-quality care.

RESPONSIBILITIES include initiating care plans, assessing residents, administering medications, documenting treatments, and coordinating care with other departments.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed as an RN in the state employed; license must be active and in good standing.
• CPR certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and lead team conferences for individualized nursing care plans.
• Assess and document residents' conditions and nursing needs.
• Implement physicians' orders accurately and promptly.
• Administer medications, start IVs, and document treatments per rules.
• Participate in orientation and staff in-service training.
• Assist physicians with tests and procedures within state scope.
• Report and record pertinent observations and resident reactions.
• Coordinate nursing care when residents are scheduled for therapy.
• Assist with emergency measures for sudden adverse developments.

Position Overview:

Majestic Care RNs render skilled technical nursing services to residents within an assigned unit/wing in support of medical care as directed by the nursing management team; supervises CNAs to ensure a high quality of care is provided to all residents in that unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiate and lead team conferences in development of individualized nursing care plans.

• Assess and document the residents' condition and nursing needs.

• Accurately and promptly implement physicians' orders.

• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments for assigned residents and document that treatment as required by Majestic Care and local, state, and federal rules and regulations.

• Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel.

• Assist physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state specified Nursing Practice Act.

• Report and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.

• Coordinate nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.

• Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in residents.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.

• Licensed as an RN in the state employed; license must be active, valid, and in good standing.

• Valid CPR teaching certificate preferred but not required.
