Job summary

Scooter's Coffee is hiring a Barista for afternoon and evening shifts at our South Dakota kiosk. You will craft espresso drinks, blended beverages, and brewed coffee while delivering upbeat, friendly service in a fast-paced setting.

Greet customers, take accurate orders, handle transactions quickly, and keep the station clean and stocked. You’ll support closing duties, restock supplies, and work with a team to move the line without sacrificing hospitality.

Qualifications

• Availability to work afternoon and evening shifts, with weekend hours required.
• Strong customer service orientation and clear, friendly communication skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, move efficiently in a small workspace, and lift supplies as needed.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and composure.
• Willingness to learn beverage recipes, point-of-sale systems, and equipment operation.
• A team-first attitude and reliability in showing up for scheduled shifts.
• Prior experience in coffee, food service, or retail is helpful but not required; a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, blended beverages, teas, and brewed coffee according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Greet every customer with genuine enthusiasm, take accurate orders, and process transactions quickly and correctly.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace, including equipment, counters, and customer-facing areas throughout your shift.
• Restock supplies, monitor inventory levels, and communicate needs to shift leaders or management.
• Follow food safety, health, and cash-handling procedures at all times.
• Support closing duties such as cleaning equipment, breaking down stations, and preparing the kiosk for the following day.
• Work collaboratively with teammates to manage high-volume periods and keep service fast and friendly.
• Respond to customer questions and resolve concerns with patience and professionalism.
