Job summary

Responsibilities include producing quality images, proper exposure, PACS transfer, equipment maintenance, and training of new staff.

Qualifications

• Technical School Diploma and radiography program graduate.
• Ability to handle medical information ethically and confidentially.
• Knowledge of radiation safety and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Produces images of diagnostic quality; processes and prepares images for interpretation by the radiologist.
• Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
• Uses appropriate exposure factors, collimation, and proper distance with documentation.
• Assumes responsibility for personal and team safety.
• Ensures exam is ordered correctly and attached to the patient folder.
• Coordinates daily workflow and timing of exams within the team.
• Ensures images cross into PACS before study completion.
• Reports equipment malfunction and needs for adjustment/repair.
• Assists in education and training of new staff and students.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the work area.
