Job summary

SALAM Islamic Center in Sacramento, CA seeks a Weekend School Teacher to deliver Quranic Arabic, Quran recitation, and Islamic Studies to students from Pre-K through high school.

The role is an independent contractor position, approx. 4.5 hours per Sunday (arrival by 9:50 AM, dismissal at 2:00 PM) with an hourly rate of $20.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Education, Islamic Studies, Arabic, or related field.
• Prior experience in weekend or full-time Islamic school setting preferred.
• Ability to teach across multiple Islamic subjects and grade levels.
• Strong parent communication and engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver engaging lessons in Quranic Arabic, Quran recitation, and Islamic Studies
• Support students' academic and spiritual development
• Maintain communication with parents through grade-level WhatsApp channels
• Coordinate with school leadership on curriculum alignment and classroom management
• Participate in Sunday morning assembly and school programming

Education
