Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems seeks a QA Engineer I to support 12-hour weekend shifts (Shift A). You will help establish quality standards, audit processes, and work with design, management, and production to reduce defects.

Ideal candidates have an Associate’s Degree with 0–3 years of experience or an equivalent mix, plus proficiency with Microsoft Office. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Required Education and Experience: Associate’s Degree and 0‑3 years’ experience OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
• Critical Professional Related Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree.
• Preferred Discipline/Major: Quality or Engineering degree.
• Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Technical expertise, research skills, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Establishes quality standards for products and processes and suggests modifications to prevent defects.
• Works closely with cross‑functional teams—product design, product management, and production—to identify and mitigate quality risks.
• Audits production processes, raw materials, or suppliers/vendors to ensure established quality standards are met.
• Conducts root cause analysis for defects, non‑conformities, or other quality failures.
• May be responsible for ensuring compliance with formal external quality standards, such as ISO 9001.
