Boston Children's Hospital is seeking an Environmental Service professional to join our team. You will help ensure a clean and safe environment for patients, with opportunities to grow and benefit from our extensive program offerings.

The role involves performing sterilization and waste handling duties, operating the San-I-Pak system, and supporting daily environmental operations on weekend shifts. Pay and benefits reflect the hospital's commitment to staff well-being.

Formación

• 1 year of experience in a closely related field.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions in English.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and compare numbers and letters.
• Courteous when interacting with patients and visitors.

Responsabilidades

• Performs daily sterilization and disposal duties related to the San-I-Pak machine; ensures biohazardous material is not radioactive.
• Sets up equipment at the beginning of each shift.
• Loads San I Pak with regulated waste for proper sterilization and loads regular waste for disposal.
• Checks control panel, gauges and chart recorder for proper functioning.
• Monitors digital display during operation and notifies supervisor of changes.
• Conducts spore tests regularly and logs results; reports extreme discrepancies.
• Coordinates all activities related to the San I Pak machine during shift.
