Job summary

Meyer Utility Structures, a subsidiary of Arcosa, Inc., is seeking a Weekend Production Manager to support our Gadsden, AL plant. You will oversee daily production operations, drive safety, quality, and on-time delivery, and collaborate with supervisors to meet production targets.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in heavy industrial leadership, strong analytical skills, and blueprints knowledge, with weekend availability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience in heavy industrial manufacturing.
• Experience in a metal fabrication or welding facility, with flux/metal core welding preferred.
• Knowledge of blueprints and layouts, preferably transmission poles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all employees follow safety procedures and protocols.
• Manage daily production operations of heavy industrial products.
• Lead, coach, and manage multiple supervisors to achieve daily goals.
• Set nightly production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, materials supply, staffing resources, and demand.
• Communicate daily with employees to meet expectations for Quality, Production, Safety and On Time Deliveries.
• Overcome obstacles to meet safety, production, efficiency, and quality metrics.
• Fill in for supervisors and manage production bays during absences.
• Manage personnel issues with HR and support resources.
• Ensure production of sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted costs.
• Assist in continuous improvement activities to improve material movement.
• Deliver annual performance reviews to each supervisor.
• Ensure 30-, 60-, 90-day reviews for all new hires.
• Ensure readiness, training, and documentation of all new hires.
• Review PTO requests, weekly timecards, daily timesheets, and deadlines.

Meyer Utility Structures is seeking a highly motivated Weekend Production Manager who will work in combination with the Assistant Plant Manager overseeing the production at our Gadsden, AL plant. The Weekend Production Manager will monitor and evaluate workflow, assembly methods, as well as recommend and implement process improvements to improve output at the plant location.

What You’ll Do:

• Ensure all employees follow all safety procedures and protocols
• Manage daily production operations of heavy industrial products
• Lead, coach, and manage multiple supervisors to achieve their daily goals
• Set nightly production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, materials supply, staffing resources, and volume required to meet demand and to ensure maximum production quantity and quality
• Work closely and communicate with employees daily to ensure expectations for Quality, Production, Safety and On Time Deliveries are met or exceeded.
• Overcome obstacles as they appear in achieving established safety, production, efficiency, and quality metrics
• Fill in for supervisors and manage individual production bays, when required by absences or vacations of production supervisors
• Manage personnel issues as they arise, with the help of HR and other support resources
• Ensure the production of sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costs
• Assist in continuous improvement activities to improve the movement of materials through various production processes.
• Produce and deliver annual performance reviews to each supervisor as part of our annual performance evaluation process
• Ensure 30-, 60-, 90-day reviews are accomplished by each supervisor for all new hires
• Ensure appropriate training documentation is completed on each new hire
• Ensure the readiness, appropriate training, and proper documentation of all new hires is completed on time by each supervisor
• Review and approve PTO requests, weekly timecards, daily timesheets, and other required items by the appropriate deadlines

What You’ll Need:

• 5+ years of successful leadership experience, preferably at the superintendent or an equivalent level, in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
• Solid managerial and leadership attributes as demonstrated through previous successful professional work experience
• Experience in a metal fabrication or welding facility, specifically with flux and/or metal core welding is highly preferred
• Thorough knowledge of blueprints and layouts, preferably related to transmission poles
• A high level of analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• A demonstrated ability to successfully lead multiple leaders/supervisors in accomplishing their goals
• A high degree of professionalism, dependability, maturity, and strong leadership characteristics as demonstrated through previous professional work experience.
• Must be able to work weekends.
• Regular and predictable attendance, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal.
