Job summary

Pasadena Villa The Grove is seeking a PRN Recreation Therapist to facilitate therapeutic groups and recreational activities for adults in a behavioral health setting. Weekend coverage is required, ideally Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, with about 10 shifts per month to support client stabilization and skill development.

The role involves assessing clients, planning interventions with the clinical team, and organizing outings while maintaining compliant documentation and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, therapeutic recreation, or related field; 2+ years in behavioral health.
• CTRS certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Complete and document therapeutic recreational assessments.
• Collaborate with clinical team to identify and implement interventions.
• Plan and facilitate group and individual therapy to develop interpersonal skills.
• Engage with clients in recreational activities and monitor behaviors.
• Organize client outings and off-site activities.
• Maintain documentation in compliance with state and payor guidelines.
• Respond to crises as needed.
