Job summary

Tarboro Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PRN) to join our rehabilitation team, primarily on weekends, to support residents in a SNF setting. You will assist the supervising Physical Therapist in implementing treatment plans, lead therapeutic exercises, monitor progress, and document changes while maintaining safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

• Current, active North Carolina license as a PTA.
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• SNF or geriatric care experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow treatment plans and work in a team.
• Compassionate, resident-centered approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in carrying out individualized treatment plans for residents based on their physical needs and rehabilitation goals.
• Implement therapeutic exercises and interventions to improve strength, mobility, and function.
• Provide hands-on support and guidance to residents during therapy sessions.
• Monitor and report on residents’ progress, documenting changes and updating treatment plans as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Educate residents and their families on exercise routines and safety measures to follow after therapy.
• Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and a holistic approach to rehabilitation.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations regarding rehabilitation therapy.
