The PA will manage inpatients on surgical services or ICU, collaborating with residents and attending surgeons to ensure high-quality care during weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current NYS licensure and NCCPA certification.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• ATLS is a plus or willing to audit.
• 1–2 years of experience preferred; trauma/emergency/acute surgical care a plus.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient rounds and contribute to clinical decision-making.
• Coordinate admissions and transfers for seamless care transitions.
• Document encounters accurately in the EMR.
• Provide first or second assist in the operating room.
• Coordinate discharges and arrange follow-up care.
