Job summary

Grant Gardens Residential Treatment Center seeks a dependable Dietary Aide for a part-time weekend position assisting adolescents aged 13–17 with emotional and behavioral health needs. The role involves preparing and serving meals, following dietary instructions, and maintaining a clean kitchen.

You will work with the Dietary Supervisor to support meal service, safety, and documentation. Weekend availability is required; prior food-service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Availability to work Saturdays and Sundays on a part-time schedule.
• Prior food-service, restaurant, or healthcare kitchen experience preferred.
• Professional food-service experience preferred for primary cooking duties.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safe handling.
• Ability to follow menus, recipes, dietary instructions, cleaning schedules, and established procedures.
• Dependable attendance, punctuality, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals, snacks, and beverages according to approved menus, recipes, and portion guidelines.
• Follow individual dietary needs and substitutions; ask supervisor before serving.
• Set up serving areas, deliver meals and supplies, and assist with cleanup.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation per procedures.
• Monitor and record temperatures for food, refrigerators, and freezers.
• Receive deliveries, store items properly, and manage inventory/stock rotation.
• Maintain a respectful environment and protect resident confidentiality.
• Document and report shortages, equipment issues, or dietary questions promptly.
