AdventHealth in Daytona Beach, FL, is hiring for a full-time laboratory support role with night-weekend shifts. This position performs cytopreparatory staining, specimen handling, phlebotomy, and infection control tasks in a clinical lab setting.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and strong English communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is expected, along with strict adherence to safety and PPE guidelines.

• Technical skills and aptitudes related to laboratory procedures.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English with patients, staff, and customers.
• Ability to read text and numbers in English and exercise judgment.
• Ability to learn and apply computer applications, including electronic keyboards and peripherals.
• Mature judgment and ability to handle confidential information.
• Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend conversational English.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsabilidades

• Perform cytopreparatory staining and accessions in surgical cases.
• Receive and set up primary specimen cultures; inoculate petri dishes.
• Clean and disinfect equipment and spaces; maintain inventory and supplies.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and evaluate new equipment/procedures.
• Provide customer service support within guidelines and educate clinical staff.
• May perform phlebotomy and blood collection for all ages and may handle hazardous waste appropriately.
• Transport specimens to the testing department and assist with processing as needed.
