Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab in Buffalo, NY is seeking a weekend Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/OTA) to join our skilled nursing facility team. You will work under the supervision of an OT to implement the plan of care and support residents in daily activities.

The role emphasizes hands-on therapy, documentation, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Weekend hours are available, offering mentorship and growth opportunities for new grads and experienced therapists alike.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA Program.
• Current New York State OTA License.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• Collaborate with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members & contributes to team effort.

Education
