Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a weekend Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility in Buffalo, NY. The OTA/COTA will support the supervising OT by selecting therapy activities and assisting residents with daily tasks.

The role emphasizes collaboration, documentation, and teaching residents to use adaptive equipment, with mentorship and flexible scheduling to accommodate weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA Program.
• Current New York State OTA License.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• Collaborate with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members & contributes to team effort.
