Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a Surgical Technician to support our operating room team in Albuquerque, NM. The role involves preparing and handling instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and coordinating with the surgical team to ensure safe patient care.

The position is full-time with a 0.90 FTE and weekend shifts (Fri-Sun). Candidates should have HS Diploma or GED with Surgical Tech training and a current BLS certification, plus 2+ years in OR settings.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED plus short-term OR surgical tech certification.
• Current BLS required.
• Familiarity with all surgical instruments and sterile technique.
• Minimum of 2+ years in a hospital or outpatient operating room if not from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during procedures by preparing and handling instruments and equipment.
• Maintain a sterile field and uphold infection control standards.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to facilitate operations.
• Ensure the OR is safe, organized, and equipped for each procedure.
• Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists and other professionals to maximize patient safety.
