Job summary

Right at Home in Lafayette, LA is seeking a Weekend on-call caregiver to provide in-home care for elderly clients. Schedule is Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

You will be paid $100 per day while on call, with potential travel up to 30 miles from home for call-outs and short-notice shifts. Qualifications

• Experience providing personal hygiene assistance (ADLs)
• Ability to remind clients about medications
• Mobility assistance and safe transfers
• Compassionate, patient care with elderly clients
• Reliable transportation to travel within 30 miles

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly clients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents.
• Remind clients to take prescribed medication.
• Help with mobility.
• Plan and prepare meals.
• Assist clients with errands including outings, grocery shopping, etc.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
• Report any changes in condition/advocate for clients.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Encourage activities/exercises essential for daily living.
• Provide safety supervision.
