Job summary

Majestic Care of Fort Wayne is seeking a Weekend Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to provide skilled nursing care on an assigned unit. You will supervise CNAs, document patient conditions, administer medications, and ensure orders are followed according to regulations.

Active Indiana RN/LPN license is required or in good standing; CPR is preferred. This weekend position offers opportunities for professional growth within a compassionate care team and includes Majestic Care benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed as an RN or LPN in Indiana; active and in good standing.
• CPR certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in nursing care plan conferences.
• Assess residents and document nursing needs.
• Implement physician orders accurately and promptly.
• Administer medications and start IVs as directed; document treatments.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training for staff.
• Assist physicians with tests and procedures within state Nursing Practice Act.
• Record pertinent observations and resident reactions.
• Coordinate nursing care with therapy and other departments.
• Respond to emergencies and initiate necessary measures.

Position Overview

Majestic Care Nurses render skilled technical nursing services to residents within an assigned unit/wing in support of medical care as directed by the nursing management team; supervises CNAs to ensure a high quality of care is provided to all residents in that unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate and lead team conferences in development of individualized nursing care plans.
• Assess and document the residents’ condition and nursing needs.
• Accurately and promptly implement physicians’ orders.
• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments for assigned residents and document that treatment as required by Majestic Care and local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
• Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
• Assist physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state specified Nursing Practice Act.
• Report and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
• Coordinate nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.
• Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in residents.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed as an RN or LPN in the state employed; license must be active, valid, and in good standing.
• Valid CPR teaching certificate preferred but not required.
