Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch in League City, TX is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist I to perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures of moderate complexity under physician supervision.

The successful candidate will adhere to ALARA, maintain equipment QC, and participate in safety, patient care, and team activities. Saturday shifts required; travel to UTMB campuses as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program

• Performs diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures to include common, special exams of moderate complexity
• Practices radiation safety and ALARA
• Follows safety standards and conducts all imaging procedures accordingly
• Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures
• Complies with job role, department and hospital safety standards
• Reports near misses and inputs errors promptly into appropriate hospital patient safety reporting system
• Performs hot lab and imaging equipment quality control (QC) at required frequencies
• Utilizes critical thinking to address patient reactions or potential outcomes
• Provides accurate and complete documentation of patient procedures
• Uses resources efficiently; does not waste supplies
• Ensures timecard accuracy and timely approvals
• Participates in department projects or governance
• Seeks opportunities to expand learning beyond baseline competencies
