Job summary

MercyOne Northeast Iowa is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for night shift to perform diagnostic sonography across diverse patient ages. The role emphasizes safety, patient education, and precise imaging.

A sign-on incentive of up to $10,000 is available and relocation support may apply based on location. Candidate must pursue ARDMS credentials with board-eligibility considered; BLS is required and ongoing professional development is supported.

Qualifications

• ARDMS certification or board eligibility within one year of hire.
• Active registry status with ARDMS preferred (RDMS/RDCS/RVT/RMSKS).
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire and renewed per policy.
• Compliance with mandatory reporter training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality ultrasound procedures using proper positioning and technical factors for patients from infants to geriatrics.
• Conduct clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations.
• Educate patients about exams and obtain consent when needed.
• Observe safety standards and follow established ultrasound department protocols.
• Apply critical thinking in daily and emergent protocol assessments.
• Prepare patients and scanning protocol according to exam orders.
• Operate 2D, M-mode and Doppler ultrasound units with appropriate transducers.
• Record images and ensure measurements are accurate.

Education

ARDMS Certification or board eligibility (within 1 year of hire)

RDMS / RDCS / RVT / RMSKS (various ARDMS credentials)

BLS certification

CME maintenance (30 CME’s every 3 years)
