Description

This position performs quality specification inspections while packing finished goods in the Production Department.

Weekend Night Shift Schedule: 7 PM - 7 AM (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday only)

Compensation: Paid weekly - Hourly wage + Shift Differential

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Performs all duties in a safe manner to include keeping the work area clean & neat.
  • Alerts Production Supervisor immediately to any unsafe conditions identified in or outside the HMP facility.
  • Arrives at the work site ready to punch in 10 minutes prior to the start of your shift prepared to perform the assignment given by Supervisor or Assistant Supervisor, reporting to assigned work area 5 minutes prior to the start of the assigned shift to get familiar with the product job card.
  • Communicates with the previous Packer/ Inspector and the oncoming Packer/Inspector to review any product or machine problems or upcoming product changes.
  • Performs visual inspection of all finished goods from the assigned machines to ensure all product is free of defects.
  • Performs jig testing on all pieces as noted on the job card.
  • Alerts the Molder of any problems that occur with finished goods to ensure corrective action is taken immediately. (Examples: burnt, wet, deformed, holes, etc.). Notifies Production Supervisor if defects continue after Molder has made adjustments.
  • Accurately completes the hour-by-hour board documenting completed and partial pallets.
  • Places all scrap or rework products on a scrap skid.
  • Ensures all product is packed and secured on the proper size skid as noted on the job card, using Wraplicator for each layer.
  • Reports any and all malfunctions (belt stops moving, belt jumps, makes erratic noises or movement, flames, fire, smoke, etc.) to the Production Supervisor or Machine Operator immediately.
  • Contacts Production Supervisor for additional work assignments if there is a break in the belt for more than 10 minutes.
  • Assists other Production personnel as required.
  • Completely extinguishes any smoldering/smoking/scorched product thoroughly in the dunk tub located at the work area after it has exited the oven. Makes sure that it is no longer smoking or burning. Cleans dunk tub of debris once extinguished.
  • Complies with all HMP policies and procedures as identified in the HMP Policy book.
  • Inspects and pack 100% quality product at the required pace.
  • Completes all paperwork and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Pulls skids to staging area and moves scrap to scrap area when machines are down.
  • Performs all other duties and projects as assigned by the Shift Supervisor or Management.
Requirements
  • Must be able to work 12-hour shifts (9PM - 9AM) and rotating weekends.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to distinguish subtle differences between similar parts.
  • Must be able to read and write proficiently and accurately to complete required reports.
  • Must be able to work and participate in a team-oriented environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand for the entire shift while performing the above outlined duties.
  • Ability to climb, twist, bend and extend arms forward.
  • Must be able to safely lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
