Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for the IMCU at Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA. This full-time role involves clinical leadership, improving safety and workflow, and staff development in a 16-bed IMU.

Requires 18 months nursing experience and a BSN; Master’s degree preferred if the graduate degree isn’t in nursing. BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire; certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 18 months nursing experience required.
• BSN Degree REQUIRED; Master degree preferred if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required.
• BLS required within 90 days of hire; Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership for nursing care in the IMCU department.
• Lead safety and quality initiatives and streamline workflow to improve efficiency.
• Contribute to staff development and increase staff satisfaction; promote Gold Standard patient service.
• Demonstrate proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area; supervise and mentor team.
