Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med Surg Telemetry Neuro/Stroke Unit, 2 East. New grads are welcome. The base pay ranges from $41.93 to $61.01 per hour, with sign-on bonuses of $20,000 for experienced nurses or $7,500 for new grads.

The shift is full-time (36 hours) on the Fri-Sun weekend schedule. The unit emphasizes teamwork, patient-centered care, and opportunities to advance into leadership or specialized roles, including NIHSS certification paths.

Qualifications

• ADN required, BSN or higher preferred.
• Virginia or compact multistate RN license in good standing.
• BLS within 90 days of hire.
• Experienced RNs and New grads welcome.

Responsibilities

• Assessing/admitting patients and performing rounds checks.
• Gives medications as prescribed and monitors effects.
• Communicates with families about care plans and progress.
• Ensures overall quality of patient care on the unit.
• Collaborates with care teams to maintain safety and outcomes.
