Job summary

NewsNation is seeking a Segment Producer for its weekend NNL 1-4p program based in New York. The role involves developing story ideas, assembling elements, and crafting engaging live segments and packages across politics and domestic/international news.

Collaborate with Executive/ Senior/ Line Producers to ensure accurate broadcasts. Requires strong news judgment, quick decision-making, and ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment. ENPS proficiency is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field.
• Experience covering politics and government in a national or major market.
• Proficiency with ENPS and newsroom tools.

Responsibilities

• Pitch stories and segment ideas regularly.
• Research topics using the Internet, video archives, and other sources.
• Write, organize, and produce scripts and elements for show segments.
• Assist in preparing and executing live, compelling television newscasts.
• Keep leadership updated on story progress.
• Mentor other staff members.
