Job summary

British American Household Staffing is seeking an experienced weekend nanny/housekeeper on the Upper East Side to support a warm, professional family and care for their 16-month-old son. The role blends childcare with household duties and includes private accommodation during your block.

The ideal candidate will be calm, patient, and reliable, with strong references, five years of nanny experience, and CPR/first-aid certification. Weekend availability and discretion are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of professional nanny experience.
• Recent infant/toddler care experience.
• Excellent, verifiable references.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• CPR and first-aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide shared-care and occasional sole-charge care for the child.
• Supervise naps, monitor the child and assist with evening and bedtime routines.
• Plan age-appropriate play, outings and activities when caring for the child.
• Prepare and serve the child’s meals and snacks.
• Complete general cleaning and tidying throughout the home, including the kitchen, bathrooms and living areas.
• Manage household laundry and linens, as well as the child’s laundry and wardrobe.
• Keep the nursery, play areas and shared household spaces tidy and organized.
• Assist with household errands, grocery shopping and light meal preparation as agreed.
• Coordinate with the parents and weekday nanny to maintain consistency in the child’s care.
• Communicate openly with the parents regarding the child’s routine and any household priorities.
• Provide occasional evening babysitting on Friday and Saturday.
• Travel with the family on occasional weekends, if required.
