Job summary

St. Mark's Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Medical Lab Technician to perform stat and routine laboratory testing under supervision. The role requires an Associate's degree in Laboratory Science or MLS, military lab training, and national certs as applicable.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology is required.
• Successful completion of an official US Military Medical Laboratory Procedures Training Course of at least 50 weeks duration and having held the Military enisted specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician).
• ASCP (MLT), AMT (MLT) or Equivalent certification is required; Non-Certified individuals must obtain certification within one year of hire.
• State License where Required (CA, FL, LA, NV) required.

Responsibilities

• Performs stat and routine clinical laboratory testing in technical discipline areas.
• Work under supervision of a medical technologist, following written procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Perform non-technical duties including specimen collection, processing, and referral testing as required.
• Support department goals for service, quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance, patient satisfaction, and a healthy work environment.
• Maintain competence and comply with Code of Conduct and regulatory standards.
• Demonstrate attention to patient safety, infection control, and appropriate workplace practices.
• Prioritize tasks to meet timelines and maintain effective attendance.

Education

Associate's degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology

Military Medical Laboratory Procedures Training Course (50 weeks)

ASCP (MLT) or AMT (MLT) certification
