Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is seeking a part-time Medicaid Eligibility Advocate to join on weekends (Sat & Sun, 11:00 am - 7:30 pm). You will screen patients for insurance coverage and government assistance, verify benefits, and counsel patients on insurance and co-payments.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred.
• Minimum one-year related experience preferred.
• Relevant education may substitute experience.

Responsibilities

• Screen and evaluate patients for existing insurance coverage, federal and state assistance programs, or hospital charity applications.
• Re-verifies benefits and obtains authorization/referral after treatment plan discussed, prior to initiation of treatment.
• Obtain legally relevant medical evidence, physician statements and all other documentation required for eligibility determination.
• Complete and file applications and maintain follow-up with patient and government agency caseworkers to ensure timely processing.
• Ensure all insurance, demographic and eligibility information is entered into the system and documented in the patient file.
