Job summary

GE Aerospace Terre Haute is seeking a Water Spider for the Materials team on the 1st Shift. The role focuses on keeping production cells supplied with materials and information to support value-added work, while leading process improvements and maintaining status metrics.

Candidates should be comfortable with forklift operation and learning to adapt in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities include material kits, shortage reviews, cross-functional collaboration, and adherence to safety and EHS

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Willingness to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Able to follow all safety and EHS policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Keep cell/stations supplied with material and information so operators can focus on value added work.
Lead problem solving and process improvements.
Updating of status and visual metrics.
Perform necessary Material Handling functions (including, but not limited to, ordering material, kanban maintenance putting away material, bulk replenishment, cycle counting, take away material and packaging etc)
Kit material for production orders and deliver in “ready to build” condition.
Responsible for reviewing and tracking shortages.
Work closely with multiple functions to resolve issues.
Operate machinery as needed (Forklift).
Able to learn quickly and adapt to a working environment that changes daily to keep incoming/ outgoing materials moving to meet customer and manufacturing requirements.
