A leading packaging company in Franklin is seeking a Maintenance Technician. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, and participating in production meetings. The ideal candidate will have mechanical experience, a High School Diploma or GED, and be self-motivated. Shift schedule includes working Friday to Monday, 6:30 pm to 6:30 am, with opportunities for extra shifts.

Performs preventative maintenance tasks. Answers direct requests from the manufacturing floor by making initial evaluations and determining the level of maintenance needed. Resolves requests from the manufacturing floor. Operates maintenance room equipment according to procedures. Maintains equipment in production-ready and safe condition. Troubleshoots and repairs equipment as needed. Participates in cross-functional process improvement teams. Actively participates in daily team production meetings, communicating key items on safety, quality, maintenance, production, and continuous improvement. Follows work instructions as needed. Performs root cause analysis for problems to determine immediate actions or escalation. Maintains a 5S environment in the work area. Administers the equipment preventative maintenance program. Participates in equipment optimization and cost control activities. Assists maintenance staff to ensure auxiliary equipment is in place and functioning. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
High School Diploma or GED required. Prefer 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Must pass Maintenance Tech Trainee Test. Possesses strong mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, robotics, or PLC skills, with diversified experience. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to use basic and advanced hand tools. Ability to read blueprints and schematics (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic). Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Self-motivated with minimal supervision. Computer experience preferred. Must complete 6 Ivy Tech maintenance courses within 18 months of starting, provided by the company.
