Job summary

Extang is seeking a Maintenance Technician 2 for the weekend shift to support the Ann Arbor, MI site. You will diagnose and repair a range of machines, including electrical/PLC systems, mechanical components, welding, and hydraulics.

The role collaborates with engineering to improve reliability and minimize downtime through data-driven approaches. The position involves CMMS administration, parts inventory, and mentoring junior technicians.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Forklift experience required; 5+ years preferred.
• 3 years of working with mechanical systems, tools, or machines required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex machines, including electrical/PLC, mechanical, welding, machining, hydraulics/pneumatics, and conveyors.
• Collaborate with engineering to resolve maintenance issues and improve equipment reliability.
• Manage the CMMS system, create work orders, upload documentation, and update parts.
• Assist with inventory, catalog parts, and order replacement parts and shop supplies.
• Mentor Maintenance Technician I on equipment and advanced manufacturing systems.
• Rebuild machines, tools, and heavy equipment; create special tools to assist production.
