Job summary

Senior Helpers in Northbrook seeks a dedicated live-in caregiver to provide one-on-one care and companionship for seniors. The ideal candidate will offer support with daily living activities and build strong relationships with clients.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in home care, senior care, or related healthcare field.
• Ability to commit to live-in schedule (multi-day shifts as assigned).
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (preferred).
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
• Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.
• Physically able to assist with transfers, mobility, and daily living tasks.
• Compassionate, patient, dependable, and trustworthy.
• Can work during the weekend live-in shift.
• With a negative Tuberculosis Test.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting).
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning.
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding if needed.
• Offer companionship and meaningful engagement.
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry.
• Provide medication reminders (per care plan and state guidelines).
• Monitor client condition and report changes promptly.
• Accompany clients to appointments or errands when required.
• Maintain accurate daily care documentation.
• Ensure a safe, comfortable, and supportive home environment.
