Job Description:

Performs a variety of laboratory tests, many of which involve numerous steps and techniques, requiring professional judgment. Tests are conducted in Blood Bank, Coagulation, Hematology, Urinalysis, Microbiology, and Chemistry. Utilizes the theories and techniques of clinical laboratory science, including quality control evaluation, to produce reliable results that aid clinicians in diagnosis and treatment. Performs supervisory functions, including administrative duties, personnel management, and problem resolution. May access medication storage areas (excluding controlled substances) related to job responsibilities.

Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Requirements:

• MT (ASCP): B.S. degree in Medical Technology or at least sixty semester hours with certified Medical Technology training. Must be currently registered and a member of ASCP.
• MT (Non-ASCP): B.S. degree in Medical Technology or at least sixty semester hours with certified Medical Technology training. Must be eligible for the ASCP exam or registered as a Medical Technologist with AMT.
• Medical Laboratory Technician: Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, registered or eligible by ASCP or AMT.
• At least two years of work experience, preferably as a generalist, with previous supervisory experience.
• Demonstrates accountability in test performance, accurate reporting, and proper use of quality control materials.
• Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test, including walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, and sitting for extended periods. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
