Job summary

Barta Animal Hospital in Southeast Kansas is seeking a Kennel Assistant to support grooming and boarding needs. Reporting to the Practice Manager, you will help keep cages clean, monitor animals, and assist doctors and technicians as needed.

This role requires weekend availability and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Training is provided with a supportive team in a growing practice.

Qualifications

• Weekend availability is required.
• Previous veterinary experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds; assist with heavier loads as needed.
• Follow OSHA safety and PPE guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients visiting for grooming and boarding.
• Admit patients with instructions and collect pickup time details.
• Record feeding, appearance, and behavior during visits.
• Observe health and activity and report any concerns to staff.
• Walk and exercise patients; assist with feeding and special diets.
• Maintain clean kennels, cages, runs, and sanitation.
• Discharge patients with belongings and ensure proper identification.
