Job summary

Danfoss in Ames, IA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to install, repair, and maintain production equipment across the plant, under guidance from the Maintenance Manager.

This weekend shift (Fri-Sun, 6:00 pm to 6:00 am) emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems, plus robotics and CNC machines. You will follow safety procedures, read schematics, and seek continuous improvement to reduce downtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• 2 years hands-on experience in industrial maintenance is a plus.
• Ability to read/read symbols in electrical/hydraulic drawings and schematics.
• Ability to read precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical systems to identify faulty components.
• Repair and maintain Fanuc/ABB robotics and CNC machines, including Mazak/Makino centers.
• Replace faulty modules and field components to restore equipment operation.
• Install and maintain hydraulic circuits in industrial equipment and related components.
• Follow safety rules and wear PPE; support NFPA-70, NEC and OSHA guidelines.
• Collaborate with operators to diagnose problems and improve equipment reliability.
