Job summary

Alta Forest Products, a leading wood products company, is hiring an Electrician in Morton, WA. The role focuses on planning, installing, wiring, and maintaining electrical systems within a sawmill environment.

Journeyman license or equivalent is preferred; 3rd/4th year apprentices may be considered based on experience. Responsibilities include installing conduit, wiring, and control equipment, as well as testing and troubleshooting to maximize mill production while adhering to electrical codes

Qualifications

• Follow safety rules and industry standards.
• Use troubleshooting skills to repair electrical systems.
• Understand and work with three-phase systems.
• Work with controls, transformers, MCCs.
• Handle VFDs and Allen Bradley PLCs.
• Work with conduit (RMC/IMC/EMT).
• Interpret the NEC codebook.

Responsibilities

• Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste and ensure future maintenance access.
• Prepare sketches or follow diagrams to install wiring per codes.
• Install and test electrical conduit, wiring, and fixtures.
• Connect power cables and control equipment; test for safety.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems to improve mill function.
