Job summary

CompleteRx is seeking a weekend part-time Pharmacy Technician to support South Shore Hospital in Chicago, IL. This role offers hospital-based experience with flexible weekend hours and a path to grow in an acute care setting.

You will assist in drug procurement, distribution, sterile compounding, and delivering medications to patient care areas. Weekend shifts are Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm to 8pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of pharmacy technician experience preferably in a hospital setting.
• Possess current pharmacy technician registration in the State of employment.
• Possess National Pharmacy Technician Certification if required in the State of employment; Where not required it is preferred.
• Successful completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician training course is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures procurement and distribution of drug orders.
• Identifies and fills replacement medications on emergency carts OR carts and floor stock accurately.
• Prepares sterile products including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition accurately.
• Delivers medications and supplies to patient care and ancillary areas accurately.
• Rotates stock to ensure use before the expiration date.
• Picks up orders requisitions and medications for return from patient care areas when on delivery rounds.
• Enters charges and credits for patient medications accurately.
• Identifies and replaces outdated and unusable drugs.
