Touching Hearts at Home of Southwest Boston is seeking a dedicated Home Health Aide (HHA), Personal Care Attendant (PCA) or CNA to care for our valued seniors on Saturdays and Sundays during daytime shifts. You will assist with ADLs, provide companionship, and support memory care in a respectful home setting.

The role emphasizes compassionate caregiving, reliable scheduling, and adherence to safety and privacy.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license and your own reliable, insured vehicle.
• Ability to work at least 16 hours per week on a consistent schedule.
• A genuine passion for providing compassionate care to seniors.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, empathetic demeanor.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to your role as a trusted caregiver.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing situations.
• Respect for seniors' privacy, dignity, and personal preferences.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• 1 year of personal or professional caregiving experience.
• Ability to push, lift, and pull up to 25 pounds.
• Willing to complete a background check, driving record check and CORI check.

Responsibilities

• Incontinence and personal hygiene support, including ADLs such as toileting and bathing.
• Provide reminders and redirection for memory-impaired clients.
• Offer companionship and engage clients in conversations, activities, and reading.
• Assist with light housekeeping to keep living spaces clean and comfortable.
• Prepare meals that meet dietary needs and preferences.
• Safely transport clients to appointments, outings, or errands.
• Provide medication reminders and help ensure correct timing.
• Plan and facilitate engaging activities to stimulate mind and body.

We are seeking an exceptional Home Health Aide (HHA), Personal Care Attendant (PCA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team and provide outstanding care for our beloved seniors. This role specifically is geared towards working weekend, daytime shifts on Saturdays and Sundays.

Responsibilities:

1. Incontinence and Personal Hygiene Expert: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) up to and including toileting/incontinence care, shower/bathing assistance, dental hygiene support, etc.


2. Alzheimer's and Dementia Wizard: Provide reminders, reassurance and redirection for clients with memory loss and confusion.


3. Companionship Extraordinaire: Be the friendly face and warm presence that brightens the day of our seniors. Engage in conversations, play games, read books, or simply listen attentively to their stories.


4. Light Housekeeping Guru: Keep our seniors' living spaces clean, organized, and comfortable. Assist with light housekeeping duties such as dusting, sweeping, and tidying up. Creating a serene environment promotes well-being.


5. Master Chef of Nourishment: Prepare delicious and nutritious meals that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of our seniors. Cooking skills and creativity are highly encouraged!


6. Transportation and Errand Maestro: Safely chauffeur our seniors to appointments, social outings, or shopping trips. Be their trusted companion and provide assistance with errands, ensuring their needs are met efficiently.


7. Medication Reminder Extraordinaire: Support our seniors in managing their medication schedules, ensuring they take the right medications at the right times. Your gentle reminders will promote their well-being and independence.


8. Engagement Captain: Plan and facilitate engaging activities that stimulate the mind and body of our seniors. From puzzles and board games to gentle exercises and walks in the park, your creativity will keep their spirits high.
