Job summary

Hemingford Care Center in Hemingford, Nebraska is seeking an Activities Staff member for part-time weekend shifts with occasional weekday duties. You will lead resident activities, tailor activities to abilities, and coordinate with the Activity Director to plan programming.

Requirements include English literacy, a high school diploma, TRS/TRT preferred, at least 1 year in geriatric care, ability to lift up to 25 lbs, and good mobility.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
• High school diploma (or equivalent).
• TRS or TRT certification preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in long-term geriatric care.
• Experience leading or supporting activities preferred.
• May be exposed to bodily fluids and communicable illnesses.
• Full range of motion; able to lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
• Adequate vision and hearing (with or without assistive devices).
• Meets facility health and screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Identify and support each resident's preferences, routines, and needs; communicate updates to the care team.
• Lead individual and group activities aligned with residents' interests and abilities.
• Adapt activities to meet cognitive and physical levels using prompts, demonstrations, and assistance.
• Encourage participation while respecting cultural and religious preferences.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe activity spaces.
• Store equipment and supplies properly after use.
• Collaborate with the Activity Director on programming and planning.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
