Join us as a Weekend Event and Party Coordinator at Michaels Stores in Plymouth Meeting, PA (5168/317).

Job Overview

Plan, coordinate, and facilitate engaging events, including kids' birthday parties, within our store to ensure a fun and stress-free experience for guests. Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers and ensuring a smooth checkout process. Perform operational tasks such as truck unloading, merchandise handling, and maintaining store standards to uphold our Brand Promises.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate multiple events simultaneously, including children's birthday parties and craft classes.
  • Create a fun, creative environment for guests of all ages.
  • Demonstrate craft projects, perform face painting, and lead activities.
  • Manage party add-ons like goody bags and balloons according to company standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members about events.
  • Handle administrative tasks, including emails, calls, and paperwork.
  • Adjust event plans based on client feedback and needs.
  • Develop backup or emergency plans as necessary.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and uphold safety and cleanliness standards.
Customer Experience
  • Assist customers with shopping, product location, and solutions.
  • Provide quick and friendly checkout experiences.
  • Promote Rewards programs and Credit Card enrollments.
  • Educate customers about Voice of Customer surveys.
  • Support omni-channel processes like BOPIS and SFS.
  • Participate in stocking, merchandising, and store maintenance activities.
  • Support safety and shrink programs and adhere to SOPs and policies.
  • Interact positively with customers and team members, promoting a respectful environment.
  • Cross-train in custom framing sales and production.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and personable.
  • Ability to handle stress and interact effectively with diverse guests and co-workers.
  • Excellent people skills and experience working with children and at events.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Retail or customer service experience required.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods and move throughout the store.
  • Regular bending, lifting, reaching, and stretching.
  • Lift heavy boxes and use ladders for high shelves.
  • Work includes nights, weekends, and early mornings in a climate-controlled retail environment, with some outdoor work and specialized shop activities.
